The BNP-led alliance has issued a revised statement saying that the blockades will continue.
In their initial statement of Saturday, it however excluded blockades-hartal but announced to hold demonstration throughout the country on Sunday.
Then a clarification came around around 5:24pm saying the countrywide blockades will go on.
The statement carries the signature of BNP joint secretary general Barkat Ullah Bulu.
As per the fresh programmes, the 20-party alliance will hold countrywide agitation processions tomorrow alongside the ongoing blockade, demanding “safe return of the party’s missing leaders including joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed”.
The alliance will also bring out protest processions at all divisional, district, upazila and municipality headquarters on Sunday to press home their demands.
The agitation is also aimed at protesting “the wholesale arrests and killings of the party leaders and activists”, according to the press release.
