Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were deployed in Dhaka this evening ahead of tomorrow’s hartal called by Jamaat-e-Islami.
“Thirteen platoons of BGB men were deployed across the capital from 6:30pm today and they will remain active at all strategic points till 5:00am tomorrow,” Mohsin Reza, BGB’s public relations officer, told The Daily Star.
Jamaat called the countrywide daylong hartal protesting execution of its leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed for his crimes committed against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
