A Bangladeshi member of an United Nations peacekeeping mission was killed in a road accident in Central African Republic on April 9, said an Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) press release on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Md Nazrul Islam, 32, a Lance Corporal of Bangladesh Army and son of late Nizamuddin of Satbaria village in Bhangura Police Station of Pabna.
The press release said the accident took place near the mission area on April 9, leaving 13 peacekeepers, including Nazrul, injured.
Nazrul was rushed to level-2 hospital where he died around 2100 local time, it added.
The 12 other injured peacekeepers are undergoing treatment at a hospital supervised by the UN.
