Bangladesh national women cricket team remained satisfied with silver medal as they lost to Pakistan for four runs in the Duckworth Louise (D/L) method in the 17th Asian Games women cricket final at Incheon, South Korea on Friday.
It was the second consecutive Asian Games Women’s Cricket title for Pakistan.
Pakistan captain Sana Mir decided to bat first after winning the toss and they scored 97 runs for 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Bismah Maroof scored highest 24 runs, Nain Abidi 18 , Marina Iqbal 14, skipper Sana Mir 10 and Nida Dar 10(not out) for Pakistan.
Bangladesh bowler Rumana Ahmed captured two wickets for 13 runs while Jahanara Alam, captain Salma Khatun and Fahima Khatun took one wicket each.
The revised winning target for Bangladesh was fixed at 43 runs from seven over due to rain but Bangladesh women’s team measurably folded their innings at 38 runs for nine wickets in seven overs.
Among the Bangladeshi scorer only opener Rumana Ahmed and one down Farzana Haq scored 10 runs each.
Nida Dar and Sabia Yousuf claimed two wickets each giving away two runs each.
