The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers will be observed in Bangladesh and elsewhere in the world on Thursday.
On 29 May, UN offices, member states and non-governmental organizations, will hold events to honour the memory of the UN peacekeepers who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.
Tribute will be paid to all the men and women who have served in UN peacekeeping operations, according to a press release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message said, “At present, Bangladesh is a ‘Model of Confidence’ for promoting peace and stability in various areas of conflict in the world.”
“To uphold this magnificent image,” she said “I hope that the peacekeepers of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Police will contribute more with their highest standard of professionalism, skill and dedication.”
