Bangladesh has been re-elected Vice President of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) for the second time on Thursday.
The election was held in secret ballot during the 13th AIBD General Conference (GC) at Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
It will be effected from 16th August 2014 for two years.
The AIBD GC was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of Cabinet of Council of Ministers of Cambodia Mr Sok An.
Bangladesh was represented by the Director General of Bangladesh Betar Kazi Akhtar Uddin Ahmed and the Director General of National Institute of Mass Communication A K M Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan.
Indonesia has also been re-elected President of AIBD GC.
In the same election Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Philippines has been elected AIBD Executive Board Members for two years.
The Conference was attended by 70 delegates from 20 countries.
The next AIBD General Conference will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 17 to 20 August 2015 and the Asia Media Summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 26 to 28 May 2015.
A Ministers’ roundtable will also be held during the Conference where Information Ministers of the Asia Pacific countries are expected to attend.
