Lawyer Subir told the court that the sovereignty of the state was now under threat after allegations of corruption were raised against former inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed and former Customs, Excise, and VAT Appellate Tribunal president Matiur Rahman.
He said there was no enforcement of the asset declaration provision, resulting in corruption by high-level officers.
