Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim will begin the ‘second innings’ of his life on Sept 27.
The wedding will take place after the Tigers’ West Indies tour, where they will play three ODIs, a Twenty20 and two Tests.
He will be marrying Jannatul Ferdous Mondi, who has completed her BBA from a private university in Dhaka.
Mondi, second of her parents’ three children, is also the sister-in-law of Mushfiqur’s teammate Mahmudullah Riad.
They got engaged on Oct 26 last year.
Mushfiqur and his parents on Tuesday evening went to Ganabhaban to invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the marriage ceremony.
They were accompanied by Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan.
Mushfiqur’s father Mahbub Hamid told bdnews24.com: “The wedding will be held after he returns from the West Indies.”
The team will leave on Aug 13 for the Caribbean tour which will end on Sept 17.
Then the Tigers will leave for South Korea to attend the Asian Games starting from Sept 19, but it will be a no-go for Mushfiqur because of the wedding.
