The ruling Awami League will hold a press conference tomorrow at the party chief’s political office in Dhanmondi as AL received opposition’s proposal letter to discuss about the BNP chief’s new formula on polls-time government.
AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam will address the briefing scheduled to begin at 11:00am, the report said quoting AL Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.
The announcement came after the AL general secretary acknowledged the receipt of a letter from the 18-party opposition alliance that sought discussion on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s new formula on caretaker government.
Addressing the nation on Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina proposed an election-time all-party government.
Following her proposal, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday proposed forming a polls-time administration by picking 10 advisers from the 1996 and 2001 caretaker governments and deciding an acceptable person as the head of the government through negotiation.
