Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday approved inclusion of 83 new assistant secretaries for the party’s central sub-committee aiming to strengthen its organisational capacity.
AL Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das will announce the names of the new assistant secretaries at a press briefing at the party’s Dhanmondi office later in the day.
The AL central sub-committee got 66 more assistant secretaries few days back, AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif told The Daily Star.
“The 149 newly appointed young leaders would be given the charge to strengthen the party’s election campaign through field work,” he added.
They would also accompany central AL senior leaders during visit to their district homes and also provide logistic support to them, he said further.
