Bangladeshi popular actress Parvin Sultana Diti has died at United Hospitals in Dhaka on Sunday morning. She has been battling brain cancer for the last few years.
Her death has been confirmed by Customer Service official Arif Rahman.
Diti underwent surgery to remove the brain tumor at India’s Madras Institute of Orthopedics and Traumalogy Hospital last July.
But she fell sick after her return and was taken to India again. She was admitted to United Hospital on her return from India.
Earlier in Januay, Diti’s daughter Lamia Chowdhury posted on Facebook stating the actress was dying.
“She’s dying,” she started with a blunt, heart-wrenching statement.
“Stop asking me about her. Stop giving me bullshit condolences that she will recover soon. There’s nothing else doctors can do for her.”
“Now she has developed secondary Parkinsons disease from radiation side effects. Her cancer is not going to kill her. Her tumor is not back. The radiation is what did this to her. I cannot answer to your questions anymore. Not an extended life of a lab rat,” the post read.
