In the wake of the finger of blame pointing at members of RAB, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Monday said an organization cannot be undermined by activities of a few officers.
Amir Hossain Amu came up with the remark after a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order at Home Ministry when his attention was drawn to alleged involvement of RAB members in the recent abduction and killing of seven people, including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam.
Briefing reporters, the minister said RAB has many successes as well as efficient officers. “An organization cannot be undermined for activities of one or two of its officers,” he said.
The Industries Minister said investigation has been continuing keeping allegations against RAB, raised by different people, in cognizance. “RAB have already formed an inquiry committee in this regard,” he added.
Terming the Narayangonj abduction and killing incident as sorrowful, Amir Hossain Amu firmly said that all perpetrators involved in the incident will be brought to justice.
Pointing finger at BNP, the Industries Minister said a political party is trying to create an unstable and anarchy-like situation in the country. They have been involved in vengeful activities failing to foil the national election in January this year.
Chaired by Amir Hossain Amu, the meeting was attended among others, by Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, Water Resource Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Expatriate Welfare and overseas employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Post and Telecommunication Minister Abdul Latif Siddique, State Minister for Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal and State Minister for employment Mujibul Haque Chunno.
Besides, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandlker, director general of RAB Mukhlesur Rahman, and senior officials of different law enforcing and intelligence agencies were also present at the meeting.
