The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, says fire service official
A ready-made garment factory has caught fire in Kuturia area of Ashulia.
At least 20 workers were injured while scrambling for exit in fear of the fire. They were admitted to local clinics.
The fire originated on the first floor of the four-storey ZA Sweater Limited around 5:30pm. Soon the flame spread to the second floor, DEPZ fire service senior station officer Abdul Hamid told the Dhaka Tribune.
He said eight fire fighting units from Dhaka EPZ, Dhamrai and Savar doused the flame after two and half hours of hectic efforts.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, said the fire service official.
