Local people and Rohingyas said that over 7,000 Rohingya Muslims sneaked in Bangladesh in past one month and a half following the October 9 crackdown on Rohingyas in Rakhine state of Myanmar.
They said that about 200 Rohingyas sneaked in Bangladesh early Friday.
Border Guard Bangladesh prevented the entry of five boats with about 100 Rohingya people on board to Bangladesh crossing Naff River, said its battalion commanding officer at Teknaf Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abuzar Al Zahid.

The Border Guard Bangladesh director general, Major General Abul Hossain, in a briefing at Teknaf land port Friday morning said that some Rohingyas had been entering Bangladesh evading the eyes border guards and no authority counted them.
He said that the government would erect barbed wire fence and construct observation towers and road along Bangladesh-Myanmar border to stop the Rohingya influx into Bangladesh.
‘We have already identified the vulnerable points through which Rohingyas have been coming…BGB has strengthened vigilance and patrol in those areas,’ he said.
He said that he had been visiting and encouraging border guards so that no Rohingya could enter the country.
He blamed brokers active both in Bangladesh and Myanmar and living in bordering areas for the influx. ‘Bangladesh police have already arrested eight brokers,’ he said.
Bangladesh and Myanmar have 271 kilometres of border, including 208km lands and 63km waterway.
Rohingya Muslims continued to enter Bangladesh crossing the river Naff and land border at Tumbrow and Gungdom of Nikhyangchari upazila in Bandarban, local people said.
Abu Siddiq and Ziaur Rahman, selected leaders of newly arrived Rohingyas at Kutupalang under Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar, said that about 5,500 Rohingyas of 1,119 families came to Kutupalang from Myanmar.
About 1,000 new Rohingyas have taken shelter at Leda Rohingya camp under Teknaf upazila, sources at the camp said.
