A truck carrying Red Crescent’s relief goods for Rohingya plunging into a ditch killed at least nine people and injured 10 others in Bandarban’s Naikhongchhari.
The identity of the deceased persons were not ascertained yet.
“The driver of the relief truck lost control over the steering and veered off the road and plunged into a ditch in Chakdhala area at around 8am Thursday,” Red Crescent’s Bandarban unit General Secretary AKM Jahangir told reporters.
The injured were taken to various hospitals of Bandarban, he added.
The truck was going towards Myanmar border with the relief goods for Rohingya, who escaped ongoing persecution in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
