Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday claimed at least eight of its activists have been killed in election violence so far.
BNP senior joint secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the statement at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
The BNP leader also said at least 9,200 leaders and activists were arrested since the declaration of election schedule on December 4.
“They were sued in 806 ghost cases since then,” Rizvi said.
According to the BNP leaders claim, at least 12,588 BNP men were also injured in 2,716 attacks across the country in the last 22 days.
He said the government is applying all its power to oust BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront from the election.
