Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has ordered the schools to return extra money that was taken as fee raise, admission fees, SSC form fill up fees within 7-day.
He also directed the schools to inform the matter to the respective education board once the money return.
If the money is not returned within the time actions will be taken as per the court directive, Nahid said on Wednesday.
In the beginning of the year, most of the private schools and colleges in Dhaka and Chittagong increased the tuition and admission fees mentioning the new pay scale government employees.
“In this context, all institutions are being instructed to stop charging increased tuition fees until further notice from the government,” the order reads.
Guardians had come down to the streets protesting the hike.
On January 17, the Education Ministry asked the institutions not to charge enhanced fees.
In December last year, the High Court instructed authorities to take proper actions against schools that charged extra money to register for Secondary School Certificate exams.

I hope the ministry of education will give more detailed explanation on what are the extra charges and what the guardians should expect to be refunded from the school authorities.
