He said on Wednesday while distributing leaflets, handbills, and putting up posters as part of the Mancha’s programme ‘Ganajagaran at Every House’, at Tongi Bazar, in Gazipur.
Imran said: “We’re seeing sign that the government has backed out of the pledge it had made.”
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) General Secretary Asadullah Badal and Mancha central leaders were present at the time.
Mancha carried out the daylong campaign in Gazipur on Wednesday to drum up support for war crimes trials and its six-point charter of demands.
Mancha activists distributed handbills and posters and did public relations at Tongi College Gate at around 11 am, Board Bazar at 12pm and Vogra Bypass Intersection at 1pm.
They also held the programme at Joydebpur Bazar, Joydebpur Bus Stand and Shibbari at around 3 pm, and Chandna Intersection from 5 pm to 6 pm.
