3,862 infected, 2,237 recover in 24 hours
Fifty-three people have died from coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.
This is the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19 recorded in a day so far in the country.
The death toll now stands at 1,262 and the death rate at 1.34 percent, Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said during a briefing.
Three thousand eight hundred and sixty-two people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is also the highest number of infections recorded in a day so far.
The latest figures take the total number of infections in the country to 94,481.
Meanwhile, a total number of 2,237 Covid-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 36,264, the DGHS official added.
The current recovery rate is 38.38 percent, Nasima Sultana said.
