Pro-hartal activists set ablaze an Awami League office and torched and vandalised at least six vehicles in the capital and its adjacent areas on the second day of 60-hour hartal.
The hartal supporters set the AL office on fire in Dania and torched a minibus at Satrasta in Tejgaon area in Dhaka.
At least 20 people were injured as the activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP, clashed with police in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. Five vehicles were vandaslied during the incident.

Three persons were jailed for six months for carrying petrol bomb at Hazaribagh in the capital.
Police picked up 18 people from Pallabi, Khilkhet, Badda and Bangsal in the capital on charge of picketing.
Meanwhile, at least 12 bombs were blasted at different parts in the city.
The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance called the hartal from 6:00am yesterday demanding formation of an all-party polls-time government.
The presence of vehicles is thin on the city streets. Private car owners preferred to keep their vehicles in garages fearing vandalism.
All the shopping malls and most of the roadside shops also remain closed.
DANIA
Pro-hartal activists set fire to Dania Awami League office in the capital around 5:30am.
The fire gutted most of the furniture in the office before fire fighters reached the spot and doused the flame.
BANGSHAL
Two people were hurt as pickets blasted two crude bombs at Raishaheb Bazar intersection of Bangshal around 10:30am.
One of the injured, Abdur Rahman, 42, a construction worker was admitted to DhakaMedicalCollege and Hospital.
Police picked up Sohel, 35, who also sustain injuries in his hand, suspecting his involvement with the blast.
KHILKHET
The activists of Jubo Dal and JCD blasted five crude bombs in front of LotusTower at Khilkhet around 7:00am, said Shamim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Khilkhet Police Station.
Police picked up seven of the activists form the scene, he added.
BADDA
Law enforcers picked up six Jubo Dal activists from Comilla Para and Godaraghat area of Badda around 7:00am when they tried to vandalise vehicles there, said Iqbal Hossain, OC of Badda Police Station.
PALLABI
Police rounded up three pickets from Pallabi in the morning, said Abdul Latif Sheikh, OC of Pallabi Police Station.
PANTHAPATH
Unidentified miscreants hurled four cocktails from the rooftop of a high-rise building near Samorita Hospital around 2:50pm.
OLD DHAKA
Sabuj, a worker of a sweetmeat shop, was injured when pickets blasted four to five cocktails on Nazimuddin Road.
A woman, Zahera Begum, also fell sick due to smoke caused by the explosions.
Both the victims were taken at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, two crude bombs exploded in front of the new building of District Sessions Judges’ Court and on the roof of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court around 3:00pm.
HAZARIBAGH
A mobile court jailed three activists of Swechhasebok Dal for six months for possessing petrol bomb, said Kazi Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Hazaribagh Police Station.
Police arrested them with petrol bomb in front of Madina Mosque, the police official said.
DHAKA UNIVERSITY
Pickets blasted a cocktail near Curzon Hall, adjacent to International Crimes Tribunal office, in the capital around 1:00pm, said Sirajul Islam, OC of Shahbagh Police Station.
SAVAR
The clash ensued on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Phulbaria when police tried to resist a JCD procession around 8:00am.
The law enforcers charged batons and fire several rounds of rubber bullets to disperse the procession when JCD men hurled brick chips on them
At least 20 people were injured in the clash, reports our Savar correspondent quoting witnesses.
The JCD men also vandalised at least five vehicles during the incident.
