Five people, including four women, were killed and 20 others injured as a bus hit a human hauler at Bansh Hati in Nandail upazila here Monday afternoon.
Three of the deceased were identified as Pappu,22 , Sahera,45 and Ambia,40.
Officer-in-Charge Nandail police station Khandaker Jahedul Islam said when a group of 25 people were going to visit a shrine at Madanpur in Netrakona district in a human hauler (Bhot Bhoti) a staff bus of a local garment factory hit the human hauler around 2 pm, leaving five human hauler passengers dead on the spot.
Six of the injured Bhot Bhoti passengers were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital while five to Nandail Health complex.
Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee.
