Forty members of Bangladesh Coast Guard will be awarded medals in recognition of their professional excellence and courageous role in anti-crime operations last year.
State Minister for Home Assaduzzaman Khan will distribute the medals at a function marking ‘Coast Guard Day 2014’ at its Agargaon headquarters in the city on Friday morning.
Senior Secretary to the Home Ministry CQK Mustak Ahmed will be present as the special guest.
Sources at the Coast Guard Headquarters said 10 officers and sailors will get Bangladesh Coast Guard Padak.
They are Captain Mohammad Farid ( Presently Vice Admiral of Bangladesh Navy), Commodore Sayed Abu Mansur Arshadul Abedin, Commander Abu Mujaffar Mohiuddin Mohammad, Lt Commander Md Shariful Haque Khan, Lt Commander KM Mamunur Rashid, Lt Com Khaja Masum, Lieutenant Nayeem Md Isthiak Ahmed, M Khosbar ali and Sumon Chandra ( posthumous).
Ten officers and sailors will get President Coast Guard Padak. They are Captain Selim Reza Harun, Captain Mohammad Majedul Haque, Captain Abu Jafar Mohammad Jalal Uddin, Commander Mohammad Bazlur Rashid, Lt Commander Mohammad Ekram Hossain, Lt Commander Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Lt Commander Laskar Abu Nayeem Mohammad Abdus Samad Al Imran, Lt Kazi Harun-ur-Rashid (Ex), MA Newaz and Md Azizur Rahman.
Ten officers and sailors will get Bangladesh Coast Guard (Service) Padak. They are Captain Sayed Saiful Islam Khan, Captain Mahmud Hossain, Instructor Commander Mohammad Helel Uddin, Lt Commander Mohammad Masudur Hasan, Lt Commander Farazi Mohammad Abdullah Yusuf, Lt Commander Mohammad Fayezul Kabir, MM Zaman, M Yunus. MN Islam and M Ismail.
Lt Commander Sabbir Ahmed Khan (President designation Commander), Lt Commander Farzana Tonny, Lt Commander Badrudduza (Ex), Lieutenant Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mia (EX), MS Rahman, MS Islam, M Kamruzzaman, Abu Sayeed, Md Moniruzzaman and M Sohagh Mia will get President Coast Guard (Service) Padak.
