The ministry of Liberation War Affairs has cancelled 35 freedom fighter’s certificates terming those fake.
The ministry in a circular on Monday confirmed the action against 35 persons, including 28 government officials, who deceived of being freedom fighters.
30 certificates were cancelled based on reports of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), two certificates were cancelled on deputy commissioner’s reports, two were cancelled due inconstancy in age and one for using two different addresses.
The people, committed forgery, also includes a deputy secretary.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said public administration ministry had been asked to take official actions against the people who obtained the certificates by deception.
The ministry will also be asked formally to cancel the privileges and financial aides for those people, said the minister.
