Police on Tuesday detained 33 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir in Manda upazila of Naogaon for their alleged links to subversive activities.
The law enforcers conducted a raid at the house of Abul Hossain, a Jamaat activist, at Baghapara village and picked up the Shibir men around 12:30pm, police said.
“They were holding a secret meeting in the house,” said Md Abdullahel Baquee, officer-in-charge (OC) of Manda Police Station.
Sirajul Islam, president, and Sohel Rana, secretary of Manda upazila unit Shibir, were among the arrestees, he added.
He said police arrested the Shibir men on suspicion that they have links to subversive activities, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.
A case was filed with the local police station in this connection.
