Three devotees died on the Bishwa Ijtema grounds because of age complications and cardiac arrest on Friday.
The deceased were Omar Ali of Keraniganj, 48, Abdul Mojid Pramanik of Sirajganj, 65, and Shahjahan of Feni, 25.
Dr Mahbubur Rahman, residential officer of Tongi Health Complex, said Shahjahan was rushed to the health complex after he had diarrhoeal diseases. Duty doctors declared him dead around 7:30am.
Abdul Mojid died of old age complications around 3:50am.
Omar was taken to the hospital after he experienced cardiac arrest where duty doctors declared him dead, said Dr Mahbubur.
The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema began Friday morning with the “Aam Boyan” (main sermon) after the Fajr prayers.
Lakhs of Muslim devotees from around the world have joined the second largest Muslim congregation.
