Dhaka Metropolitan Police today suspended all the 19 members of Pashchim Bhashantek police outpost for allegations against them that they have been enjoying warm relations with local goons.
Their failure to nab the killers of Nasir Hossain, who was allegedly killed by a local gang for protesting the stalking of his cousin early Saturday, is the other reason behind the action.
Nisarul Arif, deputy commissioner (Mirpur zone) of DMP, said a three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate allegations against the policemen and also their failure to arrest the killers.
“If found guilty, divisional actions will be taken against them,” said the DC.
Nasir died after Mamun, 27, along with his gang members reportedly beat and stabbed him indiscriminately.
