BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed announced the programme at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office on Thursday night.
The rally is also meant for registering the opposition’s protest for rejecting Khaleda Zia’s 48-hour ultimatum to the government for accepting the caretaker government system and May 5 crackdown on Hefajat activists at Shapla Chhatar in the city.
Moudud was talking to journalists when a meeting of BNP standing committee was going on at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office.
The meeting began at about 9:15pm with party chief Khaleda Zia in the chair.
During the May 4 Shapla Chattar rally, Khaleda Zia gave the government a 48-hour ultimatum, but the government turned it down the following day.
“On Monday, we’ll hold the rally from where we’ll announce the next course of action programmes in protest against the rejection of the 48-hour ultimatum,” Moudud said.
