The injured have been admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital
At least 10 persons have been killed and 38 others injured as two passenger buses collided head-on in Basantapur of Rajbari Sadar upazila early Friday.
Abdul Khalek, officer-in-charge of Rajbari Sadar police station, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the deaths.
Of the deceased, three were identified as Babu Fakir, 40, superviser of Global Paribahan, helper Mohammad Jewel, 35, and counter master Paresh.
The death toll may increase
“A Barisal-bound Global Paribahan bus collided with a Dhaka-bound Eagle Paribahan bus in Basantapur area around 3:45am, leaving eight people dead on the spot. Two other died at the hospital,” the OC said.
The injured were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Rajbari Sadar hospital.
Police and fire fighters were conducting salvage operation.
