Ten foreign journalists arrived here on Saturday under the ‘Visit Bangladesh’ programme to know the country better through intensive interactions and celebrate Bengali New Year.
The journalists are Galaa Gaballah, Board Chairman of Egyptian Gazette, Egypt, Mohssen Arishie, Egyptian Gazette, Egypt, U Myo Thant Oo, Editor-in Charge, Mizzi Journal, Myanmar, Abdullah Bozkurt, Ankara Representative, Today’s Zaman, Turkey, Ozgur Ulusoy, Foreign News Director, Cumhuriyet, Turkey, Rita Payne, President, Commonwealth Journalist Association, UK, Raymond David Whitaker, Writer and Editor, UK, Victor Shibli, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, The Washington Diplomat, USA, Anand Holla, Feature Writer, Gulf Times, Qatar and Maneesh Bakshi, Correspondent, Qatar Tribune, Qatar, according to the Foreign Ministry here.
The journalists, who will stay in Bangladesh until April 20, are scheduled to interact with Foreign Ministry officials at the ministry on Sunday.
They will also visit Liberation War Museum at Shegunbagicha, Institute
of Fine Arts to experience the colourful preparation to welcome Bengali New Year and observe Chaitra Sangkranti.
The will also visit Ramna Batamul and Dhaka University area to observe
flamboyant festivity of Bengali New Year on Monday.
The journalists will meet State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shariar
Alam on April 19 after visiting Cox’s Bazar.
