Tigers level series, secure spot in Champions Trophy

Bangladesh secure their spot in the 2017 Champions Trophy. One of West Indies or Pakistan will miss out on the tournament.

Tigers have had a confident comeback with a mammoth seven wicket victory against touring South Africa with 134 balls to spare and leveled the three match ODI series by 1-1 at Mirpur.

Bangladesh’s total went three digit, smelling the first win in the ongoing ODI series against the touring South Africa, with Soumya making a fabulous whirlwind half-century.

Before hammering South Africa, Mahmudulla assisted the way to the victory with a half-century.

Having cemented the innings with a consistent 50, he was sent back by Abbot, just on verge of reaching the moment.

And Soumya remained an unbeaten at 88, an innings hitting 13 groundbreaking boundaries.

He was ajudged man of the match.

Despite the early loss of two top order batsmen, Bangladesh look to be well ahead to the target of 160 riding on the thrashing batting display by Soumya Sarkar.

In 14 overs, the total of chasing side went up to 86, in which Soumya contributed 36 playing 33 balls. So far, the batsman on the pitch hit six boundaries that basically propelled the innings out of initial havoc triggered by In-form Rabada.

Bangladesh’s score reaches 82 in 13 over, with Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah on the crease.

Rabada made consecutive strikes as he picked up two early wickets sending back top order batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das.

Bangladesh lose two valuable wickets just within the first four overs, scoring 24 on the way of chasing the South Africa’s total of 160.

Tamim scored five runs and Litton Das 17. Rabada bowled out both of them.

They were deemed aggressive from the beginning, particularly Litton made it out of 14 balls that also comprises a spectacular over-boudary.
