Shakib got five wicket scalp against all opponents he has faced in test matches, he is yet to play against Australia

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal lost his wicket while playing a careless stroke after the visiting Zimbabwe scored 240 on the first day of the first Test match at Sher-e Bangla National Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Saturday.

Bangladesh finished the first day of the test match on 27 with the loss of Tamim.

Winning the toss at Sher-e Bangla National Stadium, Zimbabwe decided to bat first and scored 240 runs. Bangladeshi fielders dropped several catches and the ground fielding was sloppy as well.

On his return from a ban Bangladeshi alrounder Shakib Al Hasan picked up 6 wickets for 59 and debutant teenager Jubair was impressive with his leg spin and specially googlies, he picked up a couple including the visiting skipper Brendon Taylor.

On July 6, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) banned national cricket all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for six months from all forms of cricket on charges of breaching rules, however it was reduced to three months on his appeal.

The talisman all-rounder missed the West Indies tour and the tigers were in dismay without him. Today, he returned to international cricket for the first time after the ban.

Bangladesh is yet to win a Test or a one-day international this year, but they have begun this series as the favourites because of their home advantage.
