Outgoing Palestinian envoy meets Khaleda

Outgoing Palestinian Ambassador in Dhaka Shaher Mohammad H Abuiyyadeh met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday night.

The hour-long meeting that began around 8pm was held at Khaleda’s Gulshan office, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed and her Middle East affairs adviser Enamul Haque Chowdhury were present at the meeting.

However, there was no briefing from either side about the meeting.

Meeting sources said various issues relating to the mutual interests of the two nations and Bangladesh’s latest political situation were discussed at the meeting.

The Palestine envoy thanked the BNP chief for extending her cooperation to him in discharging his duty during his tenure in Bangladesh.

Shaher Mohammad is the longest-serving Ambassador and is the Dean of Dhaka’s Diplomatic Corps.

The diplomat, who joined his work in February 2006, will be leaving Dhaka soon ending his more than nine years of stay with Palestine’s mission.
