Match draw as rain washes out fifth day

The first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa ended in a draw after rain washed out fifth day’s play in Chittagong on Saturday.
Match officials called off fifth day’s play at 12:00pm with no chance of result.
Rain also washed out fourth day’s play completely and ate up around 50 overs on the second and third day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
South Africa, who made 248 in the first innings, bowled out Bangladesh for 326 and then reached 61-0 in their second knock when bad light forced an early stumps.
Openers Stiaan van Zyl was unbeaten on 33 and Dean Elgar on 28 not out. The tourists still trail by 17 runs.
The second and final Test of two-match series will be held in Dhaka from July 30 to August 3.
