Khaleda to sit in emergency meeting tonight

????????????????????????????????????

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia convened an emergency meeting of the party’s senior leaders on Wednesday night to discuss municipal elections and the party’s next course of actions.
The meeting is expected to start at 9:00pm at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan said, reports United News of Bangladesh.
Earlier, at a post-polls press conference at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said their chairperson will work out the party’s next course of action after analysing the election results and discussions with senior leaders.
Fakhrul, meanwhile, accused the ruling party men of resorting to widespread violence and capturing over a thousand polling stations and called the municipal elections as farcical and staged-managed ones.
Fakhrul, however, asked BNP candidates’ agents and the party men not
to leave the polling stations until the vote counting ends and receiving the copies of the election result sheets signed by presiding officers.
He said the ‘manipulated’ municipal elections also exposed that the government’s popularity has gone down to a zero level. ‘The polls have once again proved no election can be free and fair under Awami League.’
