Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam on Monday alleged that opposition leader Khaleda Zia is working as a Pakistani agent.
“Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami held gayabena janaza after the execution of Bangladesh Jamaat leader Quader Mollah. This proves that Pakistan is chalking out a blueprint, and opposition leader Khaleda Zia is working as its agent,” he said.
Hanif said this at a rally prior to bringing out a procession of the ruling party marking the country’s 43rd Victory Day in front of the Institute of Engineers in the city.
“We won’t tolerate anymore if the conspirators involve in terrorist acts through Pakistani agent,” he told the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Awami League presidium member Shahara Khatun said Awami League leaders and activists will have to resist Jamaat men in every area of the country.
“When we’re celebrating Victory Day, the Jamaat-Shibir men are killing people. We can’t let it happen anymore,” she added.
Awami League leader Hasan Mahmud, among others, spoke on the occasion.
The victory procession started from in front of Matshya Bhaban and terminated at Dhanmondi 32 after parading main thoroughfares of the capital.
