The organisers of five-nation Twenty20 cricket for physically challenged has revised the schedule of the tournament after rain washed out the opening match between Bangladesh and England in Dhaka on Wednesday.
With more rain looming under the influence of a low pressure at the Bay of Bengal, tournament organisers, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Bangladesh Cricket Board now decided to hold the tournament from Friday.
A fresh match between Bangladesh and England was ordered, making the Wednesday’s wash-out irrelevant, though there was no provision of a reserve day in the original schedule.
Under the revised schedule Bangladesh will now face England at 11:00am
at BKSP-3 on Friday while Pakistan will face Afghanistan at the same time at BKSP-4.
The opening match of the five-nation international cricket tournament for the physically challenged between Bangladesh and England was rained off without a ball being bowled in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina earlier inaugurated the tournament, which also includes physically challenged cricket teams from India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The opening ceremony was attended by the BCB president Nazmul Hasan along with minister of youth and sports Biren Sikder among others.
