Oishee Rahman, detained in jail for allegedly murdering her parents, has been visited by her uncle.
Md Saimon spoke with his niece for about 10 minutes on Wednesday, a senior official working at Kashimpur Central Woman’s Jail told bdnews24.com, requesting anonymity.
He is the first relative to visit her after her arrest on Aug 17.
However, no individual or relative has shown up to claim Khadiza Khatun Sumi, the 11-year old maid for the Rahman’s, being held at a juvenile correctional home in Gazipur for allegedly aiding Oishee under force.
Oishee, thought to be a minor, was sent to a juvenile correctional home in Gazipur. But she was sent to prison after her birth certificate showed that she was beyond 18 years.
Her parents, Special Branch Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and Swapna Begum, were found dead in their Chamelibagh flat on Aug 16. They bore multiple stab wounds.
They used to reside in that house with Oishee, son Oihee and Sumi.
Oishee’s another paternal uncle Moshiur Rahman had filed the case over the couple’s death. Police after questioning Oishee, who turned herself in a day after her parents were discovered, said she confessed to killing her parents.
Oishee and Sumi were brought from the correctional home to Dhaka last Saturday morning.Oishee was sent to Kashimpur Jail but Sumi was sent back to the correctional home that very day.
