Tk 195.42 crore proposed for JS in next budget

 The proposed allocation of Tk 195.42 crore has been approved for Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) in the coming budget for fiscal 2013-14.

The approval came from the 24th meeting of Parliament Secretariat Commission held at Sangsad Bhan on Sunday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Committee member Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the meeting. Finance Minister AMA Muhith and State Minister for Law adv Quamrul Islam also joined the meeting.

Of the proposed allocation, Tk 158.95 crore has been approved for non-development sector while Tk 36.47 crore for the development sector.

The meeting suggested making the officials and staff appointment rules of the Parliament Secretariat time-befitting.

It also proposed to create the required posts to ensure security to the Sangsad Bhaban, said a Parliament Secretariat release.

In the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed the newly elected Speaker and wished her all success in running the parliament.
