BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said on Saturday that the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) proposal on the framework of polls-time government makes it clear that neutral and fair election is not possible under a partisan government.
The TIB on Friday proposed formation of a committee comprising equal number of members from both the ruling and opposition alliances to select a polls-time government.
“We are repeatedly telling the same (to the government) over the last three years,” the BNP standing committee member said on Saturday.
Mosharraf was holding a meeting with the leaders and activists of BNP Keraniganj unit at the Jatiya Press Club in the morning.
Welcoming the proposal, Mosharraf said it (the proposal) will be effective if there has sincerity from the government and consent of the opposition.
“All the problems can be resolved through dialogue. But the present situation is not suitable for it because many of our leaders are in police custody,” he said.
He reiterated the demand immediate release of the BNP leaders and withdrawal of all “false cases” filed against them
