Tarique sued in Pabna for calling Bangabandhu illegal PM

A case was filed on Thursday against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman for calling Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman illegal prime minister of Bangladesh.

KM Hasan Kabir Arif, assistant secretary of central Awami League sub-committee, filed the case with Sadar Police Station at noon.

In his case statement, Arif said in a function in London on April 8, Tarique Rahman violated the constitution and defamed Bangabandhu by making derogatory comments about the architect of the country’s independence and calling him illegal prime minister of Bangladesh.

Confirming the filing of the case, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Kazi Haniful Islam said action will be taken in this regard after investigation.
