Awami League Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta has said that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) should be given more powers in a bid to fight corruption.
“No progress is possible until corruption is eradicated,” he said while speaking at a discussion at press club Friday.
“The ACC must be given more power,” he insisted.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bangladesh ranked as the 13th most corrupt country in the world in a report launched Transparency International.
Addressing the report, Suranjit said “ACC must given more power and mankind to reduce corruption.”
Mentioning Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s efforts to fight corruption, Suranjit Sengupta said, “Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working day and night to fight corruption. She is saying repeatedly that honesty gives her strength and courage.”
He also urged all to follow the Prime Minister and make a corruption free Bangladesh.
