The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has stayed till September 2 the High Court order that granted bail to BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a money laundering case.
A five-member apex bench headed by Chief Justice Md Mozammel Hossain passed the order following a plea of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday afternoon.
On July 9, the High Court granted conditional bail to Mosharraf Hossain in a money laundering case.
The court also stipulated conditions for the accused prohibiting him from going abroad.
On February 6, the ACC filed a money laundering case against BNP Standing Committe Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain with Ramna police station.
It is alleged that the BNP leader laundered around Tk9.53 crore to different countries when he was the minister for health and family planning from 2001 to 2006.
