A raid on a Jamaa’tul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) hideout in Chittagong city has yielded a sniper rifle, ammunitions, explosives, and Bangladesh Army uniform, say police.
The raid, on an apartment in a two-storey building at Hathajari, lasted nearly six hours from 1am on Sunday, said police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Babul Akter.
The police action was based on information gathered from three JMB activists arrested from the city in October this year.
An MK 11 sniper rifle, ammunitions, explosive gel, detonators, pieces of army uniform, and bomb-making materials were found in the apartment, said the police officer.
