Railway minister prepares for marriage

“God willing, the marriage will take place in the first week of December and receptions will be organised both in Dhaka and Comilla,” Hoque told bdnews24.com in his office, somewhat blushing.

So who is becoming Hoque’s life partner!

“She has a Masters and is also a law graduate. If she intends to join legal practice after marriage, she is welcome to go ahead,” said the railway minister.

But he was unwilling to disclose her name and age.

“She is a simple village girl. You can guess her age because she has done law after Masters. She hails from a good family, is religious and always moves around in a ‘Burkha’,” was all Mujibul Haque would say.

When pressed harder by this correspondent, the railway minister retorted: “Can’t disclose her name, but she hails from some Upazila in Comilla. I hope she does not turn back.”

But he insisted of knowing the lady for the last three years and the marriage following from the ‘relationship that developed’.

Why marrying so late!

Hoque: “I realised the need for a companion for the late age. I don’t want to suffer solitude and want to spend the rest of my life well and true.”

The railway minister says he will stay in Dhaka with his wife after marriage.
