Police in Pakistan say teen bomb plot foiled

Thirteen-year-old boy with eight kilograms of explosives strapped to his chest caught by police in the city of Peshawar.

Police in Pakistan say they have foiled a bomb attack by arresting a 13-year-old boy shortly before he could explode the suicide vest he was wearing.

The boy was caught by police in the northwestern city of Peshawar on Wednesday, wearing a vest with eight kilograms of explosives strapped to his chest.

Officers said the boy panicked and dropped his detonator as he ran from the police.

A bomb disposal officer diffused the explosive vest before the boy was lead away for questioning.

A man who had been with the boy on a motorbike was also arrested. Both suspects have been taken to an unknown location for further investigation.
