Barisal Kotwali police on Tuesday arrested eminent poet Henry Swapan under the Digital Security Act.
Police arrested him from his residence at the Goal Pukur Christian community area and sent him to jail, after producing before a metropolitan magistrate’s court on the day.
Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shahabuddin Khan said the reverend of a local Catholic Church had alleged that Henry hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian and Muslim communities.
