PM hosts Iftar

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted an Iftar for orphans, physically-challenged children, war-wounded freedom fighters and Islamic scholars at Ganabhaban on Friday.

Before the Iftar, a special prayer was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the prayers.

Eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his wife Fazilatunnesa Mujib and others killed of the Aug 15 massacre, and four national leaders in 1975, Liberation War martyrs and democratic movement heroes was also sought.

Maulana Habibullah Juktibadi, Abdur Razzak, Abdul Halim Siraji, Mohammad Akhtar Hossain Bokhari, Golam Mawla, Abdul Bari, Ismail Hossain, Habibullah, Abul Hasan Sheikh Shariatpuri and Solaiman Al Azadi, among others, attended the gathering.

LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Social Welfare Minister Enamul Hoque Mostofa Shaheed, Environment and Forest Minister Hasan Mahmud, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Tajul Islam, State Minister for Religious Affairs Shahjahan Miah and Media Advisor to the Awami League President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury were also present.
