Thanks to an unbeaten opening stand between Anisul Islam Emon and Rakin Ahmed, Old DOHS Sports Club thrashed Partex Sporting Club by 10 wickets in a curtailed-over game in the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
Incessant rain in the morning had seen the contest reduced to 15-overs-a-side.

After being sent to bat, Partex Sporting, who lost opener Hasanuzzaman for naught in the very first over, never were in a position of authority in the game. It was yet another low-scoring contest — a feature of the tournament so far — as Partex Sporting could only manage 77 for four with skipper Tasamul Haque scoring a team-high 25-ball 18.
Young left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan remained the most impressive with the ball for Old DOHS. The 18-year-old finished with career-best T20 figures of two for eight in three overs.
With no scoreboard pressure whatsoever, Old DOHS openers Rakin and Anisul guided their side over the line with 21 balls to spare. Anisul scored a run-a-ball 33 while Rakin’s 36-ball 43, laced with six boundaries, saw him being adjudged the player-of-the-match in a game that clearly lacked elements that make a T20 contest exciting and fun.
