BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia burned both ends of her candle, health minister and Awami League leader Mohammad Nasim said on Thursday.

“She did not heed the words of Sheikh Hasina, rather chose the Jamaat-e-Islami and did not participate in the elections,” he told a Sirajganj crowd.

“The people has voted this government for five years. This government will rule for five years. You (Khaleda) decided to boycott elections,” he said.

“But nobody except your house-maid responded to the call. Even your party activists did not respond to your call. The people are with you no more.”

“You have burned both ends of your candle by boycotting the elections,” he said while attending a reception of the local Awami Legaue in the afternoon.

Sirajganj Awami League acting President Mostafizur Rahman, Sirajganj-2 MP Habibe Millat, Sirajganj-3 MP Alhaz Ishaque Hossain, Sirajganj-4 MP Tanvir Imam, Sirajganj-5 MP Abdul Majid Mondal and Sirajganj-6 MP Hasibur Rahman were present among others.
