Masum Hossain stunned reigning champion GM Abdullah Al Rakib in the 4th round of the Berger Paints National Chess at the Media Centre of Bangladesh Olympic Association yesterday.

Minhazuddin Ahmed lost his 4th round game against Uten as GM Ziaur Rahman won against Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan to climb to top of the table.
However, Uten is also sharing the top spot with Zia with 3.5 points each. GM Niaz Murshed beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, GM Enamul Hossain defeated FM Debaraj Chatterjee, FM Sk Nasir Ahmed beat FM Rezaul Haque and FM Khandokar Aminul Islam drew with CM Sohel Chowdhury.
